April 1 – Dave Sampson & Laurenn Marchand
This is not an April fool’s joke folks! On April 1 we welcome back Dave Sampson. He’ll be here with Laurenn Marchand.
See Upcoming page for info on our Earth Day show featuring Kane & Potvin.
Dave’s debut album had this catchy tune “No Pressure, No Diamonds” that was picked up by Classified and went nuts on billboard charts. Dave also collaborated with Neon Dreams on their single “Love Experts” which made it to the billboard EDM top 40. But Sampson is not just a song writer. He delivers his songs with a captivating voice that could blow down a brick house.
“Heartfelt, energized and emotional, Dave Sampson has obvious natural talent as a singer-songwriter. Recommended for fans of Joel Plaskett, David Myles and Hawksley Workman.”

We discovered Laurenn Marchand at this year’s In-the-dead-of-winter festival and loved her songs, her voice and her stories. Laurenn, often compared to Feist and Joni Mitchell, is an indie/folk singer-songwriter who will bring warmth to your soul. Her debut EP, Ghosts in the Garden, was nominated for Solo Recording of the Year, Folk Recording of the Year and New Artist Recording of the Year at the 2016 MNS Awards.

Gabrielle Papillon – January 14
Gabrielle Papillon & Sean MacGillivray warmed up the house with their beautiful performance.
As 2016 draws to a close I want to thank everyone who supports live music by attending shows at our house, at other houses and at more traditional venues across the city. Without you, house concerts do not work. So please, tell your friends about us, like us on Facebook and continue coming to our shows. I wish each and every one the comfort and warmth of close friends and family, cherished pets and new wool socks …. and time to pause and soak up the joy of the Christmas season.
Then, when you open your new 2017 calendar, put a star on the square for January 14 because you will want to be with us for GABRIELLE PAPILLON!
“When every wild thing goes to ground, unleash the tempest of old on the shadows of the living” Hailed as “one of the finest new songwriters in Canada” (Tom Power, CBC), singer-songwriter Gabrielle Papillon sings stories real and imagined. Words, melancholy melodies, and lush harmonies are her currency. Her fifth album, “The Tempest of Old” is big and dark, orchestral and defiant. She will be performing songs from this album for us as well as some new material destined for an upcoming project.
Details: Saturday, January 14 @ 8 pm Seats: $20
