Dear music lover,
2020 has sure packed a few punches. Like you, we are missing live performances, especially the live music we have so enjoyed sharing with you in our living room.
Kudos to those artists and fans who are making virtual shows work. And congratulations to those artists who have used these months of forced pause to create and continue sharing the gift of music with us.
Here are a few Patchwork alumni who have been doing just that:
Quote the Raven released the single Hope in July.
Dennis Ellsworth put out a new EP in June called “Common Senselessness”.
Logan Richard released singles “Every Day” and “Running”.
Adyn Townes‘ new single Leave it Alone has a beautiful video to inspire reflection.
Rachel Beck‘s EP reminds us that we are “Stronger than You Know” with single Warrior (lots of great dancing there too).
Jeffery Straker‘s single Morning Light will soon be followed up by a Christmas EP.
While Classified has never performed at Patchwork, Breagh Isabel has and Classified’s spring release Good News hit the airwaves at just the right time. When I need a little comfort, a reason to smile, I sometimes turn to this song (or rewatch a little Schitt’s Creek). Speaking of comfort, T Thomason‘s Bliss Part II featuring Sarah McLachlan is pure comfort – what we all need right now. Comfort and Joy – the way Ian Sherwood does it.
And what would Christmas be without music and family and friendship? While George and I cannot invite you into our home at the moment, Christina and Dale would like to invite you into theirs….virtually of course. They are having a holiday party (details below) on December 13. You’ll have wrapped up Season 4 of the Crown by then…..
YOU’RE INVITED TO THE MARTIN & MURRAY

This holiday season Christina Martin and Dale Murray are bringing holiday cheer to audiences around the world from the Nova Scotia. “We’re preparing some of our favorite holiday covers for this 60+ minute online event and looking forward to interacting with all of you and exchanging holiday traditions,” says Martin. She and Murray will perform all of their original Christmas songs during the event, including the brand new “Kisses for Christmas” (Listen and Watch on YouTube). “Bring your friends and family together virtually to watch, or in-person within your bubble, cozy up with your favourite holiday snacks and socks and let’s connect December 13th.”
For Patreon members at the It’ll Be Alright ($8.00 USD) tier or higher your ticket is included with your Patreon Membership (THANK YOU!). Become a patron here: https://www.patreon.com/ChristinaMartin
Best wishes for a Christmas season of comfort & joy & safety. Our toast to 2020: good riddance. Our toast to 2021: hope, promise and kindness.
