a trio of talent were on their way to Lunenburg…..

And decided to come in and entertain us (and you! if you join us!!). We generally do not host house concerts in the summer but when the likes of Peter Youngtree, Carole Bestvater (Youngtree & Carole Bee) plus Gina Burgess come a knockin’, you gotta open the door.

Internationally recognized artist Gina Burgess is a mult-genre violinist and composer. A former member of the Juno Nominated Iqaluit-based arctic rock band “The Jerry Cans” and the Hot Swing group “Gypsophilia”, Burgess is a sought after performer and collaborator with numerous ensembles. Her latest project, “ISNOW”, mixes classical music with celtic folk and incorporates contemporary Inuit throat-singing with elements of jazz. It won the 2025 ECMA for fusion recording of the year. Burgess’s original music has been described as ethereal, genre-bending and filled with Spirit. Please check out her youtube page for examples of her musical creativity.

Two bright stars of Newfoundland’s music scene, Peter Youngtree and Carole Bestvater have been playing music together since 2015, developing a close musical and creative partnership through their original touring band Youngtree & The Blooms. As a duo, they have one rule: “Only play music we love”. This means an eclectic mix of traditional and modern folk music, well-crafted original songs and instrumentals. Youngtree and Carole Bee have become a sought-after act for their exuberant energy, musical skill, and onstage chemistry. Like this little gem.

These three will be on their way to the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival. Catch them here if you are not attending the festival; catch them here even if you are attending the festival. If you have family or friends visiting from out of town/province/country, bring them too so that they can experience the joy of a Nova Scotia house concert.

Tickets are $25 + fees and available here. Like all of our house concerts, 100 % of the door will go directly to the artists. We provide the stage, chairs and hopefully a room filled with eager listeners. Snacks and soft drinks will be offered; otherwise it is BYOB (Bring Your Own Beverage). Bringing music-loving-friends and visiting family members is strongly encouraged.
