Happy New Year! Happy New Decade!
It’s a new year and we have lined up a bunch of musicians to warm what can be a long winter evening……Start your year right by locking down a few events in your calendar.
First up: Quote the Raven a folk duo from Newfoundland who just landed nominations for Group of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for the Music NL Awards 2019.
Saturday, January 18 @ 8 pm. Tickets
Quote The Raven pairs powerhouse vocalist Jordan Coaker and haunting songstress Kirsten Rodden-Clarke. They made an immediate and emphatic statement with their long-awaited debut album, Golden Hour. Produced by Chris Kirby and featuring several high caliber songwriting collaborators (including Gabrielle Papillon, Ian Janes, Charlie A’Court, Keith Mullins) Golden Hour launched this pair firmly in among the artists one needs to watch.
Jordan and Kirsten delighted everyone who attended their first show at Patchwork in early 2019. They are back in these parts to record some new songs so we thought we should invite them back to get a sneak peak at their latest artistic endeavors and see what a year of performing around Canada has done for their live shows.
On February 22, 2020 we welcome Blues musician Dan Doiron to Patchwork. He will warm up the living room in the dead of winter…..Tickets here.
A blazing spitfire guitarist, Dan Doiron fuses inventive guitar riffs and grooves with unique lyrics that reflect on every day life. After many years as a sideman, in 2011 Dan stepped out as a solo recording artist, earning both East Coast Music Award and Music Nova Scotia nominations for his debut CD. In May, 2918 he released his fourth album Livin’ Centre Stage which also garnered Music Nova Scotia Award nominations.
On March 4 we welcome back powerhouse vocalist Kim Harris to share songs from her sophomore album Heirloom (to be released Jan 31 and one of CBC Music’s 25 Canadian albums to look forward to in 2020). Tickets are available here.
A little further down the road……tickets are on sale for May shows with Christina Martin and Lynne Hanson (links on the upcoming page).
All events are BYOB. Snacks offered. Shareable snacks welcome. Bringing music-loving-friends encouraged.
Warm regards,
Monique & George
