a little more information about the artist……..
Producer/guitarist/singer-songwriter Chris Kirby – has been celebrating the release of his latest album What Goes Around with shows across Canada and rave reviews. Here is a recent appearance on Global TV:
https://globalnews.ca/video/5948255/chris-kirby-releases-first-album-in-seven-years
It has been 7 years since his last album (Wonderizer) but do not take that to mean he took ‘a break’. Chris has been quite busy behind the scenes as a producer, songwriter and sideman, helping to deliver some of the best music coming out of the East Coast.
Kirby may be best known these days playing keys for Matt Andersen; he also co-wrote two songs on Andersen’s latest album, Halfway Home By Morning. Kirby’s songs also show up on albums by Stephen Fearing, The Once, The East Pointers, Tim Chaisson and more. As a producer, he’s steered albums by Charlie A’Court, Keith Mullins, Brianna Gosse, Beauwater, hot new harmony folk duo Quote The Raven and more. Plus, he’s part of a new group of all-star players, Lockdown Trio, which features keyboard hero Kim Dunn and drummer Geoff Arsenault.
What Goes Around is a collection of 11 groovy soul and R&B Kirby originals, plus one very special cover. He got some help from a bunch of talented friends: Shaun Verreault (Wide Mouth Mason) cowrote some songs and played some guitar on the album, as did Ian Janes. Charlie A’Court sang, Ian Sherwood played Saxophone, Keith Mullins co-wrote songs and played percussion. Other friends had a hand in either writing or performing: Damhnait Doyle, Cory Tetford, Gordie Sampson, Dennis Ellsworth, and on and on. There’s even a song written and performed with his wife, Victoria Howse. Read reviews from The East Mag & The Daily Musician.
