Alan Gerber – Friday, May 17

Patchwork House Concerts welcomes  back Alan Gerber : May 17 @ 8 pm

$20 (all funds given to the artist)

Alan has been around the block a few times.  Discovered by producer Paul Rothchild (the Doors, Janis Joplin) he became the singer, songwriter and keyboardist for the band Rhinoceros that toured with BB King, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and others.

His solo career began in the 1970s. His style is described as blues meets gospel meets boogie woogie featuring mastery of keyboards, guitar and violin. Check this out:

Last time he played here we had to adjust all of the paintings – the entire house was shaking!

From this great review of his performance at an acoustic festival (http://alangerber.org/sat-night-was-magic-alan-gerber-acoustic-harvest%E2%80%8F)

“Alan gave an outstanding performance at Acoustic Harvest Sat. night (May 23/09). It was one of the most eclectic shows we’ve ever had with Alan performing many songs impromptu, ‘off the cuff’, at times moving around through the audience delighting and mesmerizing them with his wide range of genre and style; with his great wit, charm and humour.”

RSVP** to mleblanc.patchwork@gmail.com.  It helps us to plan (for chairs, brownies, trifle etc.).

Shows are BYOB.  Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. You are welcome to bring a shareable snack but only if you wish.

Directions and reminders will follow to those who reserve a chair or two.

Best,

Monique & George

**When you commit to attending, your seat is reserved for you (or for an alternate if you can’t make it at the last minute). The artist(s) counts on the number of people who have committed, and so do we to keep our house as a good and reliable venue to continue to bring fantastic musicians to you in such an intimate setting.  In short: if you say you’re coming, please do so.  Thanks
